Important Information for this Cuddle Party™

Please be considerate about scents. We are going to be really close to others. Consider that before eating garlic (as an example), smoking, and wearing perfume. Many people are very sensitive or have allergies to scents and chemicals. It's called MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, it is a medical condition.) and it is more common than ever before. We are in an enclosed space with a lot of people and scents can overpower the space quickly. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Note that this location does have a dog on site. While he won’t be cuddling with us, he does live here and if you are sensitive and need to take medication, please make arrangements.

Feel free to bring pillows, blankets, stuffed animals...whatever makes you more comfortable.

PJ's -

Rule #1 of Cuddle Party™ is clothes stay on the entire time so wear comfortable clothes, PJs or sweats are ideal, for cuddling. Think “more flannel, less lace”. You can change here if you need to. Also feel free to bring slippers, if you’d like.

Please bring a snack to share, preferably your favorite children's cereal, and whatever you want to drink (no alcohol). We will provide milk and cereal and plenty of water to drink. Probably even coffee. :)

We have limited space and ticket sales will end once we have reached the max number of people. Tickets are non-refundable (we are holding a space for you, if you don't show that keeps someone else from attending). The tickets are refunded if the event has to be canceled due to weather or other unforeseen reasons.

Please contact me if finances prevent you from attending. I believe everyone should have access to Cuddle Party™ and we always have a "Work Exchange" ticket available. (We always need help with setup, check in, cleanup, etc..)

Will be disclosed with paid ticket. This location does require the use of stairs as it is a second floor apartment.

PLEASE BE ON TIME Absolutely no admittance after the Workshop has begun, in this case 3:30. If you find you are running late, please call or text Michelle at 269-998-4926 . Doors open at 3:00. Be sure and arrive early to allow yourself time to change into your pajamas if you need to.

You are, of course, free to leave at any time but everyone attending has to be there from the start so we all have the same agreements and understandings. This creates a safe place where everyone hears the same rules and understands what is expected.

So those are the basics! Here are some more details...

What is a Cuddle Party™?

A Cuddle Party™ includes a 45 minute workshop on consent, boundaries and communication followed by 2 - 2 1/2 hours of platonic cuddle time. You never have to cuddle with anyone you don't want to, ever. They are a wonderful way to experience platonic touch in a controlled environment.

Here is a short video on what Cuddle Parties are about:

Cuddle Party™ is led by trained and certified Cuddle Party™ facilitators. The facilitator’s job is to guide you into those skills gently and easily, in a fun, safe and light hearted way. We welcome you and create an atmosphere of respect, and remain available for questions and support.

At a Cuddle Party you gain:

* Clarity and confidence

* Boundary and communication skills

* Comfort, support and encouragement

* The secrets to welcome, relaxed, non-sexual touch

* Possibly an Oxytocin boost (depending on if you cuddle).

Wiki on Oxytocin

Video on the benefits of Oxytocin.

The skills you learn at Cuddle Party® translate into everyday life, right from the start. When boundaries and consent are clear, every relationship is easier.

Some people are already comfortable with touch and can’t wait to be in a place where that’s OK. Others are not even sure they want any touch at all, but come to explore some communication skills. Others are just curious about what it might be like. Whatever your reasons, a Cuddle Party™ is a great playground for discovering more about yourself, for exploring new ways of connecting with others, or simply enjoying a relaxing, cozy afternoon with other cuddly souls.

People of all genders, sexual orientations, and relationship styles are welcome. :)

Note that there may not public transportation available to this event. Parking is on premises. Contact me if you need more info.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you! ~ Michelle
